Drawing Fabric Focusing on Plains/ Setting.

Ok, plains, what the crap? I don't get it. Nope. It just makes you want to scream! Work it too much looks like crap, work it too less and it doesn't look like enough. I'm going to draw the easel when I get it back, I just did what I normally did and ran out of time. I had parent weekend to deal with, and had no real time to myself. Excuses I know. Originally I was going to do the sheets that are covering my bed, but I thought I would mess that up to no end, like to be unfixable. I think I am slowly starting to grab this concept of breaking everything up.

I feel constricted in this assignment. I do like the bold slow marks more than the light thin ones, feels like I am doing more work. This is a lot of measurements and precision. I dislike both of those. I kind of like the consistey of the lines, and the different use of pencils.

I did one strip with pencil 6B and one with 2B. All others were mixed up. I thought it would be interesting to see the difference. I also did both that I did in only 6b and 2b without a ruler. I think the ruler is the main constrictor. I did many free of the ruler, I thought it gave more contrast. I also studied up on the artist Bridget Riley, her main thing was to use lines as illusions. That is why I wanted to do verticals lines and diagonal lines. But I understand that this assignment was more about studying the difference in pressure and speed.

All in all, I would say I enjoyed this assignment. I wish it were on a smaller scale because then I could of spent more time on each line instead of worrying about filling the whole format. Again I suck at using rulers and perspective.
